The following general tournament information is provided to help make your ERMGC Tournament experience a great one. Please let us know if you have any questions.
First off, the Empire Ranch Restaurant has a great menu and will serve food throughout the day. They begin serving breakfast at 6:30am and can provide you with lunch after completion of your round.
We have also made it possible for you to pay your registration fees on-line. Check our our safe, secure, and easy-to-use On-line Payment Gateway.
When you sign up for a tournament, please provide all information asked for (such as full name, whether or not you're participating in Gross or Net Skins, and any other information the Tournament Call asks for). If you're replying to a Tournament Call email, responding directly to the original e-mail saves time for all of us (for any given tournament we may receive as many as 400-500 e-mails!). We try to send email with entry updates as the sign up for a tournament progresses. When you receive these, please take the time to review the information and let the chairman know if you spot any errors.
Before you contact us with a question concerning your registration or pairing, please review our Tournament Bulletins page. Our tournament chairmen post the latest info there as the tournament comes together.
If you are signing up a twosome, threesome or foursome, please advise the other players in your group, so we don't receive 4 emails from each foursome. Keep in mind, if you sign them up and they don't show, the player may be liable for the tournament fees.
Normally, tournaments will be held regardless of the weather unless cancelled by the Tournament Chairman. If the tournament is not cancelled and you do not show due to the weather, you may be liable for your Tournament Fees.
Tournaments will normally close approximately 8-10 days prior to the event, allowing us to advise the Pro Shop on the number of players, so that they can accurately manage the remainder of the day's Tee Sheet for the times we're not scheduled to use.
When we use Tee Times (for other than a shotgun start) they will be published via e-mail approximately two days before the event. But... when we use tee times, every effort is made to try to make them first come first served, with the exception of your board members, who must go off at strategic times in order to manage the tournament. For these reasons, it's not possible to get everyone in the field an early tee time. If you have time problems we'll try to take that into consideration. But, please keep in mind that there's only one "silver bullet" per member per year. Therefore, if you happen to get a late tee time, it's the way the shoe dropped. If you cancel at that point or don't show up, you may be liable for the fees.
At Home Tournaments, your group's Official Scorecard will normally be placed on one of your group's golf carts. Please keep any side bets on a seperate card. When you complete your round, information required for each player is:
hole-by-hole gross score
total gross score
total net score after the handicap is subracted
Your scorer must sign the scorecard and have it attested by another player in your group. Please turn your card in as soon as possible after your round (unload your bags and change your shoes afterward please!). If your scorecard is not accurate, USGA rules will be applied. Decisions made by the Tournament Committee are final.
Because the Tournament Committee will post all tournament scores for you, each player must putt-out on all holes, regardless of how many strokes he has taken. There are no gimmees in tournament golf.
Be sure to post all of your recreational golf scores so that your skill is accurately reflected when you play in tournament events.
